Crunch Digital PDX Service To Provide Data Management and Payment Services

Los Angeles, California (July 12, 2011) – Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the world’s leading music publishing company, and Crunch DigitalTM today announced that UMPG will utilize the data management service for selected cloud and Internet streaming music services. These services present new challenges for publishers to collect royalties from digital music providers due to the volume and complexity of data. Crunch Digital’s PDX ServiceTM centralizes data flow under licenses from publishers to the licensed music services and improves the accuracy of royalty reporting.

“We found that the reporting and collection methods in the marketplace for music publishers licensing digital services aren’t working,” added Keith Bernstein, CEO of Crunch Digital. “Inaccurate reporting means less money going into pockets of publishers and songwriters. Universal is one of the largest music copyright owners, so choosing Crunch Digital as a data partner can help simplify reporting for the digital music services while improving Universal’s collections.”
